A wonderful 1970s Italian Murano glass handkerchief lamp by La Murrina
A wonderful 1970s Murano glass handkerchief lamp by La Murrina, with "vetro di Murano pavone" style glass details. Stamped with the La Murrina plaque. There a light fitting in the base and the top of the lamp, illuminating the whole lamp. Re wired with new fittings antique black cord flex, switch and PAT tested.
La Murrina was an Italian company renowned for its high-end lighting fixtures, decorative items, and glass art made using traditional Murano glass techniques. La Murrina began collaborating with famous designers and architects to expand its production with contemporary collections. Noted past collaborators include Ettore Sottsass, Karim Rashid and notably Lino Tagliapietra, who as one of Murano's most renowned and famous glass makers, worked at the Murano glass factory La Murrina during the 1960s and was appointed Primo Maestro there in 1968. During this time, he specialised in creating lamps and other products for the factory.
