Although much loved as an artist, Hitchins was first and foremost known as an avid Flamenco dancer. He almost single-handedly introduced London to this form of dancing in the 1950s and 60s and until his death in 2019 he remained an active member of the Flamenco Dance scene. Claudine Roux, Andrew Tullis and Lucy Cash directed a short film about his life called ‘Made in Hackney’.

Date: 1960s

Origin: England

Dimensions:

Height: 116 cm

Width: 75 cm

Depth: 4 cm

Condition: Good orignal condition

Product Code: MIR 551

Please note that delivery/shipping is not included in the price of this item.

Purchases can be picked up from the showroom by appointment or we're happy to arrange delivery/shipping.

A lovely Art Deco 1930s three legged stoneware vase by Wilhelm Kåge, for Gustavsberg, Sweden. Designed with the iconic mottled green base, which was produced by copper oxide and decorated with a mythological fish with a string of bubbles rising up to the rim, all in the iconic silvered, hand painted and chiselled finish.
